ds708 is there a longer cable available yet or an extension. can I use a 15 pin serial cable extension with the original cable.

my cable is bad wondering if they make a longer cable or can I use a 15 pin serial cable extension with my new cable to have better mobility.

hi.....I have brought this issue up myself with autel.....as far as I know, they only do a replacement cable. Some people say they have got one from a computer shop....but when ever I have asked, I have had no luck. Should you find a longer replacement please let me know. -

I found that a standard DB15 serial computer cable works great as an extension, they come in a standard length of 6'.
I have also seen them on amazon in 15' lengths. They are not stiff like the OE cable, the only thing you have to do is trim the plug a little so it clears the housing on the scanner.
